Senior Python Developer

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria

100% in the office

Business domain: fintech/hedge fund

Stack: Python, AWS, Docker, MLOps experience, combined with a creative mindset and data awareness.


Our client is a quantitative hedge fund, using big data and machine learning to deliver returns to its investors through a machine-plus-man approach.

The team of quantitative researchers, mathematicians, and machine learning experts develop breakthrough solutions to some of the most challenging problems in finance and economics. To achieve that, the team members rely on a robust data pipeline and software infrastructure to continue operating smoothly.


What you’ll do:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions (hands-on)

  • Build CI/CD pipelines

  • Lead and mentor the rest of the team and help implement best practices in coding

  • Think creatively, innovate and solve complex problems; Improve the existing internal software

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience programming in Python

  • Proficiency in cloud computing (preferably AWS)

  • Proficiency in Git

  • Experience working with Docker containers

  • Experience working with large data sets, task scheduling and DAGs

  • Exposure to unit and integration testing frameworks


Would be a plus:

  • Degree(s) in a technical or quantitative discipline, like statistics, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, or computer science

  • Understanding of time series analysis, data mining, numerical methods, and statistical tools, including PCA and regression

  • Experience or at least interest in machine learning techniques, time series analysis, and econometrics

  • Experience in Deep Learning: DNN, CNN, RNN/LSTM, GAN, or other autoencoders

  • KX / KDB+ / q experience

  • Basic understanding of equity markets
